KOLKATA / AGARTALA, Sep 12 (TIWN): In 2014-2015, CBI Joint Director of Eastern Region Rajib Singh never bothered to even question Manik Sarkar or CPI-M leaders and Ministers for involvement in multicrore Rose Valley Chit Fund scam. Being a close associate of Manik Sakar’s gang of corrupt IAS, IPS officials, former Inspector General of Tripura Police Rajib Singh has given clean-chit to all CPI-M Ministers, Chief Minister so that Manik would take care of Rajiv Singh. It is to be mentioned that on August 20, 2015 last a team of SIT (Special Investigation Team) head by Sameer Ray went Kolkata to investigate about Rose Valley, that have duped thousands of investors of the state. For last fourteen days they were staying at Kolkata.

"Whom they have met, where have they gone, Which  officials of Rose Valley was questioned are is mysteriously kept secret by police headquarter". CBI  in 2015 arrested two directors of the West Bengal-based Rose Valley Group for alleged complicity in the chit fund scam. The group's chairman GautamKundu is already behind bars arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act for mobilising public money without proper sanction of the Securities and Exchange Board of India.

Tripura Police SIT team basically went to Kokata to show off and hide their lack-of-interest. Whatever information collected from police sources it was informed that as per government norms rooms were booked for them at  TripuraBhavan. Each team member was e allotted Rs 360 for food and lodging. Transportation fee to be paid through Tripura Bhavan. But  the team members stayed at outside expensive hotels. Reports saysSIT official Sameer Ray and another member SIT attended a tea party arranged by Bijoy Kilkdar, a senior official of Rose Valley.

"The directors - Shibamoy Dutta and Ashok Kumar Saha - were arrested from Kolkata. They allegedly had long association with the group and were active in conspiring with GautamKundu, in cheating and misappropriation of funds," said a Central Bureau of Investigation officer."Dutta from Kolkata, was allegedly instrumental in operations in West Bengal. Ashok Kumar Saha a resident of Agartala, was the main culprit  in Tripura. The Rose Valley Group is alleged to have collected more than Rs.10,000 crores through illegal collective investment schemes.

High court appointed SIT team remained non-functional as Tripura Police scared to touch any corruption in CPI-M’s last baston at Tripura.
