Modi Govt creates history for Tripura, f | AGARTALA, Feb 21 (TIWN): Tripura's first Broad Gauge (BG) goods train to arrive Jirania station on Monday morning officially even though it started it onward journey towards Agartala from Dharmanagar on Sunday morning 10.30am . Ecstasy ran high among the common people when the traditional whistle of the BG train was first heard at Dharmanagar station creating a history in Tripura. As per the schedule, Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu on Saturday inaugurated the first two commercial goods trains for Tripura and Manipur from Silchar on the newly converted BG track. The two goods trains, flagged off by the Minister were for Jirania station in Tripura and Jiribam in Manipur's East Imphal district. Tripura has finally made it to the national BG rail network when the first goods loaded train arrived into Dharmnaagar after series of doldrums.The train was received amidst cheers and enthusiasm when the rail head along with 42 bogies amidst cheers and happiness. ‘Border fencing is must for State | RAGNA (Indo-Bangla Border), Feb 21 (TIWN) : Unfenced border areas across Tripura are causing increasing violence and terrors for lakhs of people residing near Indo-Banngla Border areas. Such an half km unfenced area has been visited by TIWN correspondent and had a talk with BSF Commandant on Sunday morning.The area falls into North Tripura’s Ragna Indo-Bangla border area, 5 km away from Dharmanagar subdivision where at least over half kilometer of border area are left as unfenced. Modi Govt plans special incentives for E | AGARTALA / KOLKATA, Feb 20 (TIWN): Central government considering giving special incentives to northeast and eastern states in the proposed textile policy, which is expected to be presented in the upcoming budget session of parliament, Textiles Minister Santosh Kumar Gangwar said on Friday. "We expect to present the new policy in the coming Budget session," he said, adding it will be a long term policy of ten years. "We are considering special incentives for the manufacturing units which would come up in the northeastern states, as also in the eastern states of Bihar, Jharkhand and West Bengal," he said. The minister launched Integrated Skill Development Centres at three mills of National Jute Manufactures Corporation (NJMC) at National Jute Mill in Howrah district and Alaxendara and Kinnison Mills in North 24 Parganas district at a cost of Rs.6.40 crore. 10,323 Teacher termination case: 10 days | AGARTALA, Feb 19 (TIWN): Just 10 days are left for the hearing of the much awaited teachers jobs termination case scheduled to be produced before the court on February 29. It is to be mentioned here that the much talked teachers jobs termination case of 10, 323 is going to be placed before the court on February 29. Earlier, the case was going to be placed before the court on January 17 or 19 but due to some unknown reasons the case has been further postponed on February 29. Talking to TIWN correspondent, Education Minister Tapan Chakraborty earlier said that the case is most probably to be produced before the court on February 29. Besides, he also expressed hope to win the case as many of the people job and livelihood is connected. If the State win the case than the job of the 10, 323 teachers will be safe.However, after prolonged several months also the case has not been solved yet. Preparation on peak, Suresh Prabhu to fl | AGARTALA, Feb 19 (TIWN): In the wake of creating another history for the land locked Tripura, preparation is on peak to kick off the goods train service from Assam’s Badarpur to connect Tripura up to Jirania railway on Saturday. The source in the NFR said that Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu is scheduled to flag off the goods trains services from Assam's Badarpur to connect Tripura and Manipur on February 20. As per schedule two goods trains would be flagged off by the Minister for Jirania station in Tripura and Jiribam in Manipur's East Imphal district. NFR has been developing railway infrastructures in ten states including, Tripura, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Sikkim, parts of West Bengal and Bihar. Almost all the work of track laying is completed and the BG passengers train service will start as soon as possible after clearance from Commission of Railway Safety, mainly known as CRS. TIWN News effect at Dharmanagar : CPI-M | DHARMANAGAR / AGARTALA, Feb 19 (TIWN) : Issue of rat-cooked Mid-day-meal issue has become a big embarrasment for CPi-M and District Authorities at Dharmanagar, as the ruling CPI-M Govt. seems already decided for not taking any action against the school authority. It was on Tuesday, that the students of North Ganga Nagar Anganwadi Centre were served with cooked rat in their Anganwadi centre following which caused massive protests among the locals. But cunningly, CPI-M govt. and its local Minister Bijita Nath tried to terrorize the angry villagers with the help of the local Panchayat memmbers and attempted to close the matter to save Party's name.
