AGARTALA, June 8 (TIWN): With the onset of the new academic session, once again the education fairs are organised in the state to attract the newly pass out class 10 and 12 students and their guardians not to enroll their children’s blindly in the private institutions of different states, which are campaigned and promoted through the “Education-Fair” in the state. It has been observed that a number of students are taking admissions in various institutions and universities within the country and abroad for pursuing higher studies in different fields. It has been learnt that some of these institutions aren’t recognized by the appropriate statutory bodies notified for the purpose by the Central Government. Such institutions, universities lure the innocent students by issuing misleading advertisements in various newspapers claiming recognition/ affiliations of some statutory bodies which may not always be correct. Taking admission or pursuing studies in such institutions/ universities may ruin the life of the students as the degrees awarded by them may not officially be recognized, leading to unnecessary wastage of time, money, energy and hope.

Reportedly, with the rise in illegal business in the name of admitting students in ‘C’ category colleges across the state by a section of brokers and agents it has become rampant in Tripura.

It is alleged that some brokers and fraud agents are engaged to fraudulent activities where thousands of Tripura students are victimized. It is seen that since last four years the brokers and fraud agents of institutes of different other states, the ‘C’ category colleges and professional institutions manages to play fraud with the students in the name of getting them admission in those colleges in return of hefty amount.

Every year ample brokers and fraud agents gets engaged to enroll students in private or non-existent colleges, manages to take students from Tripura in exchange of hefty amount in the name of getting them admission, but, in reality  it was found that those colleges are ‘C’ category and they are non-affiliated colleges. They don’t get any affiliation from the universities and by bluffing with bundle of lies they trap the students from Tripura and harass them.

However, the brokers and agents who come here in the state every year to admit students in the abroad colleges in the name of “A” category college mainly targets the rural students but very few students from the city, as a result their unsecure futures stops at one point of time.

Most of the colleges were found having no affiliation or either their affiliation has been cancelled and the newly admitted students gets deprived at large and their aim for education comes to an end.
