AGARTALA, March 6 (TIWN): All Returnees Joint Action Committee (ARJAC) and Joint Action Coordination Committee (JACC) preÂ98 and postÂ98 Returnees outfits group today organized a press conference at Agartala Press Club with their various demands.
Speaking to the media person’s president of All Returnees Joint Action Committee (ARJAC) central body Daniel Debbarma said that in response to the government appeals, insurgents had surrendered before the state machineries to lead a normal life. As per the agreement, all the pending cases were supposed to be withdrawn against the surrendered militants. However, the hard reality is that the government has failed to fulfill the commitment.
Daniel Debbarma said that the committee strongly protests the harassment of the returnees outfits in the name of reverification in district and block level.
If our demands remain unheeded, the surrendered militants will start mass agitation against the CPI (M) led state government, said Debbarma.
