AGARTALA, March 6 (TIWN): A thick security blanket has been thrown through out in the capital to ensure peaceful celebrations of Holi festival, here today.
Taking to TIWN today Superintendent of Police (SP) West Bijoy Nag said that the entire town has been divided into many security sectors and senior officers are supervising and monitoring the security of each sectors.
A total of 300 Tripura State Rifles (TSR) jawans have been deployed in the city to prevent any untoward incident in Agartala. Security has been tightened particularly at Temples, SP informed.
Other arrangements like anti-sabotage arrangements, keeping a close vigil from roof-tops and search by dog squads have also been made, said SP.
The police has installed drop grates at all significant roads to prevent entry of vehicles in crowded areas during peak hours. According to the SP strict watch is being kept over the activities of anti-social elements and preventive actions are being taken.
