40 yrs old banned Communist backed newsp | AGARTALA, Oct 2 (TIWN): Ex-Editor of prohibited newspaper of Tripura 'Daily Desher Katha' cum CPI-M spokesperson Gautam Das has termed West District Magistrate Sandeep Mahatme's order of banning 'Daily Desher Katha' as illegal and challenged the DM to cancel his order on the basis of facts. Addressing in a press conference at Daily Desher Katha office, with Chief Journalist Milan De Sarkar, Editor Samir Pal, Desher Katha's Ex-Editor Gautam Das said, "Daily Desher Kath is 40 years old popular newspaper, witnessed many Govt's rise and fall. It was first published on daily basis in 1979, 15th August. But since the first day of the BJP-IPFT Govt attempt was taken to shutdown the paper and on yesterday night DM-West forcefully, illegally stopped the paper which is a naked attack upon press freedom and also October 1st is a Black Day of newspaper history. The DM of West District acted according to political order of BJP Govt". Referring the history of Daily Desher Katha, Gautam Das said, "In 1979 the newspaper was started at the interest of common men and RNI number was also received. Earlier it was only weekly paper. On that time from "Janashiksha Cooperative Printing Works" the newspaper was being published". Amit Shah desperately kept on telling the Govt employees, “Give us vote on February 18, we will win on March 3rd and from 4th March take 7th Pay Commission wise salariesâ€. Health Minister honours Ex-CM Manik Sark | AGARTALA, Oct 1 (TIWN): Tripura Health Minister Sudip Barman on Monday has shared dais with Ex-Chief Minister of Tripura Manik Sarkar and honoured Sarkar for his heavy efforts, contribution to influence the youths of Tripura towards massive blood donation campaigning. A programme was conducted at Rabindra Bhawan on Monday to mark 'National Voluntary Blood Donation Day' and Sudip Barman had invited the Ex-CM for whom, earlier he already voiced for award on the ground of Tripura's record level blood donation campaigning. Barman also dedicated a song to encourage people for blood donation on that occasion and called people to come forward to make this blood donation rate at 100 % success from the current 95 % rate. It started with above 600 govt contractual employees under Japan Funded JICA project and now Forest Dept employees, Mid-day meal employees, DRW, AMC and other depts too which have hit widows, women, extreme poor people from deep rural areas.
