AGARTALA, Oct 1 (TIWN): CPI-M ruled Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) members had to walk a rally with Modi photo at Agartala city under Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.

After Swachh Bharat was exposed as one more scam under Modi Govt as 2019 is the deadline to make all streets clean, rallies have been increase in numbers to awake mass awareness on Swachh Bharat, a mission promised by PM Modi.

The rally was led by AMC Mayor Prafullajit Sinha and other members, councilors of the AMC. 

On yesterday, Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Deb came under controversy after he scolded the Mayor, who is also much senior in age to him saying AMC is failed to manage the garbage.

Agartala Municipal Corporation has proposed a budget of Rs. 21871.99 for the year 2018-19. AMC Mayor Prafullajit Sinha has tabled the budget on Sep 27.

Here it can be recalled that Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Deb also has assured from next year, Agartala city will not suffer from water-logging problems and recently he added, "If I can't fulfill my promises, I will quit leadership and never battle the Election". 

Swachh Bharat Abhiyan or Swachh Bharat Mission is a nation-wide campaign in India for the period 2014 to 2019 that aims to clean up the streets, roads and infrastructure of India's cities, smaller towns, and rural areas. The campaign's official name is in Hindi and translates to Clean India Mission in English.
