AGARTALA, Oct 2 (TIWN): In a move to influence the young generation to come forward to donate blood regularly, Tripura Health Minister Sudip Barman has donated blood in a voluntary blood donation camp in Agartala after he last donated blood on June 22.
The blood donation camp was organized by Central Yuva Sangstha on Tuesday on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti.
Addressing on the occasion, Sudip Barman said, "Today it's the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. On yesterday there was programme in Rabindra Bhawan dedicated as National Voluntary Blood Donation Day and it was on yesterday that I decided, I will donate blood today. The last blood donation on behalf of me was on June 20 and on September 20 already 3 months have been gone".
The Health Minister also called for regular blood donation by people at least in each 3 or 4 months.
"You can give 4 times blood in a year, but we urge people to donate blood at least 3 times a year, which will help not only the mankind but also will purity your body", Barman added.
