Congress blocks National Highway against | AGARTALA, May 11 (TIWN): Tripura Congress activists, leaders led by Congress President Birjit Sinha and Gopal Roy have blocked National Highway at Agartala Kamarpukur area in Math Chowmuhani protesting against the bulldozing drive of the BJP led state govt against Congress party offices. Earlier also various party offices of Congress which were built over govt lands were bulldozed by the Biplab Deb led BJP State Govt including CPI-M party offices. On May 7 and May 8 various party offices were bulldozed at Motor Stand and at GB area whereas more fresh notices were served and maximum of them were pasted on the door of the Congress Bhawans. At Kamarpukur also the Govt has pasted a notice for eviction. Reacting over the notices, Congress have blocked the National Highway at the Math Chowmuhani calling the Chief Minister Biplab Deb a 'Barbaric Ruler'. Congress President Birjit Sinha said, "All party offices on hills have been served with notices of bulldozing. This Kamarpukur located party office has also been noticed to be evicted. But each office including Municipality office also is built over Govt land here. Why only the Congress Bhawan has been targeted ? No meeting was also called for any discussion with us. ‘May be your age is less but give | AGARTALA, May 11 (TIWN): Reacting over the temporary suspension of the social pensions of the beneficiaries over 4.5 lakh, Tripura Congress President Birjit Sinha today said in a press conference, “May be the BJP Govt's age is less, but we can not tolerate undemocratic movements of the govt". Targeting the BJP Govt, the Congress President said, "Only two months of govt you are but if you take any wrong decision or take attempt for undemocratic attitudes, we have to protest and raise voiceâ€. Birjit Sinha said, “We have called media with some burning issues. As opposition, seeing the undemocratic moves of the govt, we can not stay silent. On 24th March, 2018 a decision was taken by the Govt of Tripura to suspend the allowances of 4.5 lakh of people. Tripura Govt launches Eviction drive for | AGARTALA, May 10 (TIWN): Locals of Agartala Howrah river banks, who have been served with notices with strict orders to vacate homes within 7 days, have decided to talk to the Chief Minister Biplab Deb. The locals who are living on govt lands since around 40 years are ready to release the spaces but they need proper rehabilitation in exchange of that. Yesterday meeting the MLA Asish Saha the locals had raised the issue immediately after getting the notices of being bulldozed. Another MLA of that area is none other than the Chief Minister himself who won the election with huge votes from Banamalipur constituency and thus the locals to meet Biplab Deb to talk about the crisis situation. The reason behind the eviction was taken after the govt handed over dam-construction work on Howrah river to a private company to stop the flood damages due to the erosion of the Howrah river. Earlier the Chief Minister Biplab Deb said that Howrah river to serve 3 purposes : 1) Water storage, 2) Flood controlling, 3) Power plant. Following those purposes now lakhs of people are undergoing ‘bulldozing’ tensions.The decision was taken on 11-4-2018 which was only after 1 month of the Govt had assumed the charge. Shocking Notice to Poor : BJP Govt order | AGARTALA, May 9 (TIWN): Uncontrolled eviction drive likely to turn heavy upon the newly elected BJP Govt as over 150 families today lodged protest after receiving notices to vacate their homes within 7 days, which are constructed on Govt lands. Letters issued on May 3rd, 2018 were served to at least 150 families residing on Howrah river banks at the Pratapgarh area in the Capital City Agartala. There is no alternative arrangement for the warned residents on the river banks. Over 1500 Tripura youths to join South I | AGARTALA, May 8 (TIWN): When state is suffering from huge unemployment rates, at least 1500 youths were recruited by the South Indian Textile companies who conducted a job fair here in Tripura recently. The two day long job fair was conducted from April 25 to 26 by “Southern India Mills Association" (SIMA). The Tripura youths were provided with a special train for traveling whereas after reaching at there the companies will give them free accommodation and also manage free meals. After 3 months of training they will be recruited by the companies. At 3 pm the train had left from Agartala Railway station. South Indian Textile mills under "Southern India Mills Association" (SIMA) in South India, had conducted a job fair at Agartala on April 25-26 to recruit workers directly. Southern India Mills’ Association chairman P. Nataraj earlier said there was a meeting recently where they studied the problems are being faced by mills in recruiting employees.
