AGARTALA, May 11 (TIWN): Biplab Deb no doubt is entertaining masses and national media with his regular gaffes and lectures (Vani) without substance. Reacting after GB hospital's long shutdown and exposure of patients' suffering due to the power-cut in the last night, Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Deb lectured media, "Write how GB hospital has developed after the new govt came in power. GB hospital is now in 70 % better shape". Hitting media for exposing about the ongoing power-cut problems in GB hospital, Chief Minister Biplab Deb has asked the journalists try to know the full matter. “I myself two times visited GB hospital. I hope each people here will agree with me that the GB hospital is now in far better”, Biplab Deb said.

“Health Minister Sudip Barman three times visited there and  6 to 7 hours long reviews were done by him. If the works were  done by the previous govt in such a manner, then the condition of GB hospital would be far better and people shouldn’t go to Chennai for treatment”, the Chief Minister said.

“After BJP Govt came in power, in 2 months the GB Hospital has been developed more 70 %.  I would like to request my media friends that they should criticize the govt but as well as praise the govt too", he said.

CM’s lecture came after a daily newspaper exposed the long powercut in GB hospital on Wednesday night.

“Correct information should come. Because I also read newspaper at the morning who has written what. So, I would request my journalist friends that do criticism but also praise the govt”, he said.

“I am not a pandit, neither I am donating my knowledge, but if democracy is there truth should be come out”, CM said.

However, the CM also added, “Media should be kept alive. Govt shouldn’t put pressure upon media for own profit. When a govt tries to suppress media that means the govt is not working properly”.

“Democracy has 4 pillars : One among them is the media, another is the Parliamentary system, one is Judicial system and one is Administration. On the 4 pillars the democracy is standing and among the 4 pillars if a single pillar becomes weak, then the whole system will be collapsed”, he said.
