AGARTALA, May 8 (TIWN): CPI-M’s illegal empire finally being dismantled one by one by BJP Govt’s bold steps. Tripura CPI-M’s 20 years veteran Ex-Chief Minister Manik Sarkar today visited Agartala Old Motor Stand area, where on yesterday union party offices built over govt lands were bulldozed in the early morning. The administration however left no space for political-cry as not a single brick was left after demolition. The whole Motorsatnd area occupied by political parties since many decades is now free from all kinds of party banners. Manik Sarkar visiting the spot said, “Whatever they have done it’s not right. It was totally unnecessary. They could discuss with people and the political parties before demolition. The union offices were also resting sheds for the workersâ€.
Along with Manik Sarkar, MP Shankar Prasad Datta, Ex-Education Minister Tapan Chakraborty were present during the visit.
On yesterday 10 party offices, shops were demolished, which were built over govt lands following which the CPI-M and Congress had come with sharp attacks.
Today on the Day-2, the drive has been continued and at GB hospital area various CPI-M and Congress party offices were demolished.
One day before the demolition had started, Tripura CPI-M State Secretary Bijan Dhar on Sunday has announced, at least 99 party offices of their party have been served with notices, for building over govt lands. Bijan Dhar said, "It's true that some of those party offices are made over govt lands and some we made by ‘grabbing’, but these are very normal practices in party office constructions across India".
