Security of Senior Citizens under threat | AGARTALA, Jan 21 (TIWN): Question raised again about the security arrangement at Tripura’s Capital City, when a 70 year’s old woman killed brutally at her own resident on the heart of Agartala City. The incident took place at Shibnagar under East Police Station, which has created much tension among the locals there. The deceased has been identified as Jotshna Bhowmik (70), W/O-Lt Pankaj Bhowmik. The incident came to know when during morning time, her home left in locked condition from outside and following her no response in phone her grandsons came to her home searching for her. After calling repeatedly, when nobody answered from inside, the locals broke the lock and entered, but seeing the horrifying condition they immediately called the police. Countdown begins for long awaited Udaipu | AGARTALA, Jan 20 (TIWN): Only 4 days left that the long awaited Udaipur-Agartala train service will be launched from January 24th and it will run for 6 days a week. Although Tripura Govt failed to generate any revenue till day, but the Union Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu declared that after Udaipur-Agartala the network will be extended till Sabroom in South Tripura district, which would be the next gateway for India from Bangladesh. Efforts would be made to make it a railway station of international standard once the extension of railway line till Sabroom will be completed. A source said that Suresh Prabhu may jointly flag off the Agartala-Udaipur train services with Tripura Chief Minister Sarkar on January 24.
