Food poisoning incident at Bishalgarh Noyapara S.B. school led to the suspension and transfer

Agartala, September 1 (TIWN): One person was temporarily suspended and two persons are transferred from their service in connection with the mid-day meal incident at Bishalgarh’s Noyapara S.B School. Besides these from 1st September 2014 both the morning and noon sections are joined together as a result of poor amount of students.

With that School Managing Committee will also be changed. Education Minister Tapan Chakraborty informed this while replying a calling attention lay down by Opposition MLA Pranjit Sinha Roy. All the teachers were transferred as said by the Minister in connection with the point of clarification raised by opposition MLA Bishwabandhu sen.
While replying Mr. Chakraborty told that the teacher-in-charge of the mid-day meal committee Tapan Das had been temporarily suspended and two cooks Rekha Rani Deb and Parola Begam had been transferred from their duty on the basis of negligence. Inspite of this new management committee will also be constituted. Minister also give stress on this scheme and expects that the administration will reputedly progress in this and at the same time School Management Committee will also be more active. The incident on the respective school is just an accident and in future Government will not let it to be happened.
Other than that District Magistrate of Sepahijala had submitted the final report and told that out of 66 students of the School 57 were present on that day. While they had been served the midday meal a particular smell of tobacco comes out of it. Immediately the students informed the teacher-in-charge. But he negligently took it and considered these as nothing abnormal. The students after ben taking the meal after sometime complaints of spinning sensation in the hand along with the numbness of limbs.  they had been admitted to the hospital and 7 critical students were referred to GBP Hospital from where all of them were released today. After getting the news the Director, School Education along with other officials reached the spot and set up an enquiry committee to take disciplinary measures deem fit for this.
It is to be mentioned that on 26th August at Bishalghar’s Noyapara S.B School 48 students fell ill after taking the midday meal.Immidiately after getting the news Officer-in-Charge of the Bishalgarh Police Station, Sub-Divisional Magistrate and District Magistrate of Sepahijala rushed to the spot and enquired the matter. Recently about 3 lakhs 30thousand 780 students in 4416 institutions get benefited by the midday meal scheme.
