3 Professional Thieves Arrested by Agart AGARTALA, May 16 (TIWN): In a major development against increasing theft and robbery cases in Agartala, East Agartala Police have busted a gang comprised of three youths. Total three persons were arrested in the drive, reportedly after day-night engagement of East Agartala Police and West Agartala Police in the mission. Huge numbers of laptops, mobiles and other expensive stolen items had been recovered from them. Police continues interrogation of them and after producing each of them before the court, remands for them to be sought. SDPO Anirban Das said, “In last few days, lots of theft and robbery cases were increasing in the capital city Agartala. In this regard, OC-East and OC-West Agartala Police Stations were working jointly to find out the thieves. Whole night raids, searches were done by the Police teams and succeeded to nab the professional looters. Total 3 professional thieves 1) Joydeep Ghosh, 2) Ratnadeep Biswas, 3) Gopal Das were arrested. After a sudden down, COVID-19 Cases agai AGARTALA, May 16 (TIWN): After a drastic fall of COVID-19 cases in Tripura, in another upsetting update, Tripura has reported with 11 more positive cases in State. On Saturday morning, Chief Minister Biplab Deb has announced, “625 samples have been tested for #COVID19 and among them 11 persons found #COVID19 POSITIVE. 7 people from 86-Bn BSF & 4 civilian from Churaibari Gate (2 driver from other state, 2 people returned from Guwahati). All the POSITIVE patients are under proper medical care”. This is a matter of tension as this time, civilians are also tested positive although 2 are transferred to other states”. On yesterday, total 13 patients were released from the GB hospital today after they were tested negative. The day before yesterday also many patients were released from the hospital and right now in the GB hospital 50 patients are under treatment. According to Tripura's health officials, of the 159 Border Security Force (BSF) personnel of two battalions (86th and 138th) and family members who tested positive so far, 40 including two kids have recovered and been discharged from the hospital. 16-May-2020

Yesterday also many patients were released from the hospital and right now in the GB hospital 50 patients are under treatment. Talking to media, Dr Pradip Bhowmik said that due to Doctors and Medical staffs continuous breathless struggles, situations are developing fast and hopefully Tripura will become a COVID-free state again and the fight has to continue until defeating the pandemic. Dr Pradip Bhowmik is hoping that soon the AGMC block (GB hospital quarantine centre) can be freed from the patients and Govt’s other centre’s too. While departing, the recovered patients were congratulated by clapping and staffs from all corners of the hospital clapped together. The team has arrived in Tripura on yesterday, visited Dhalai District where COVID19 outbreak heavily occurred among the BSF and today they are visiting COVID-19 treatment centres from GB hospital to Bhagat Singh Youth hostel. In case of Agartala bypass road the situation rather worsened in last 2 and half years, alleged the regular goers. Specially in monsoon, the journeys become more risky, giving a huge challenge for the daily travelers with time, fuel consuming journeys. This journey is no less than a Roller Coaster journey for the passengers whereas more dangerous situations are expected in the upcoming rainy days when muddy roads becomes too slippery increasing chances of accidents. Talking to an auto driver at Agartala bypass, he said, “Our vehicles are almost unscrewing and my auto is breaking day by day”. A biker said, “I used to go by autos but from 2 and half years, there is no maintenance in the road. It has forced me to go by bike. In a major development, Airport Police on Thursday have busted a massive drug-network in Agartala, with 2 persons arrested from Narayanpur’s Kadamtala area. After smuggler Ramu Saha arrest case, this is the second lead of police in anti-narcotic drives in Agartala. 800 yaba tablets were recovered from the houses of Nirdosh Das and dry cannabis from Pinky Saha’s house. On being interacted by media on spot, accused Pinky Saha said that from Nirdosh Das her husband also might have recently learnt to consume drugs, but her husband has brought these items in home. After 10 years of jobs, when suddenly mo AGARTALA, May 14 (TIWN): The 10323 teachers who lost their jobs in High Court and Supreme Court’s verdicts due to irregularities in recruitment under the previous Left Govt and the then Left Govt led biggest blunder of challenging High Court’s order, taking the matter to Supreme Court instead of including the petitioners in employees rows (as per High Court’s option). But, before 2018 Tripura Assembly Election almost illusion based super-promises given by the BJP Party to come in power, left the teachers literally devastated after 10 years of jobs. Although it seems to be easy to advise the teachers to struggle for existence but it is truly turning sensitive issue amid police have arrested 2 of the teachers. With all these, chaos and no money situation for the teachers is the reality, when their livelihood is gone after 10 years of continuous habit of getting salaries per month. Humanity and Human Rights nothing is working for the teachers but the reality is, teachers are left jobless, did not get any salary from 1 month, although among them, few were living with their cancer patient family members, few have children and few already passed away in heartattacks, unnatural ways. 14-May-2020

Tripura Law Minister Ratanlal Nath has said that till now 39,799 persons want to come back to state who have registered their names in the portal of the State Govt. Already the home returning process has been started as from Bengaluru (Karnataka) around 1,200 people came back via train on yesterday. The Law Minister also said, another train will start from 14th May from Karnataka. In case of Tamil Nadu more than 7000 people stranded and the passengers are on the way by route. In the same way Mahatasthra, Telengana and in other states also, people want to come back. 14 BSF Jawans discharged from GB hospita AGARTALA, May 13 (TIWN): With total 14 BSF Jawans were discharged from GB hospital, after tested negative (earlier was tested positive) the total numbers of active cases stands 137 but CM announced 1 fresh cases raising the active cases 138. As per rule, they will be now quarantine centre for 14 days before they permanently discharged by Health Dept. Tripura CM has tweeted, “Happy to share that 14 BSF, COVID-19 patients got discharged from GB hospital, Agartala today. Now they will be under surveillance at institutional quarantine center. I pray for the speedy recovery of all the COVID19 patients”. Passengers’ Train with around 1,2 AGARTALA, May 13 (TIWN): First ever lockdown's passengers train with stranded people have arrived in Agartala on Wednesday which started from May 10 with around 1,200 passengers from Bengaluru. After arrived, each of the passenger's screening had been done and then taken for sample collection in random selection methods, as they have travel history and entering from other states. For the next trains also, same process will be followed. Talking to the arrived people, they expressed their happiness on home-state arrival. One of the passengers said, “This is like end of their much awaited home returning day. Ofcourse, we faced a lot of problems and in 3 days journey also, huge problems were faced but still finally we are in our State. Feeling relaxed and happy”. The passengers also thanked the State Govt for this management as they were heavily suffering due to lockdown. In Agartala Railway Station, massive management on behalf of Health Dept was done. Everyone in social distances stood in rows for screening and name entries. They will be taken for sample collection and then to be released for home, where 14 days quarantine will be strictly followed. 13-May-2020

2 former teachers among 10,323 detained AGARTALA, May 13 (TIWN): Two former teachers among sacked 10,323 teachers were detained by police today from the Police Headquarter area on Wednesday. When media asked, Police said that they detained these two persons as they were suspiciously moving at the Police Headquarter. On the other side, the ex-teachers said that they came to meet the DGP. One of the detained person said, “We just came to meet the DGP. Whether we are arrested or not, we don’t know anything. Police have told us that they will interrogate us for which police have enough reasons”. SDPO Anirban Das has told media that due to their suspicious movement, police arrested them and now police will ask them, why were they moving over the area. On yesterday, the 10323 teachers staged massive protest at the Education Office demanding to meet the Director U K Chakma regarding Supreme Court’s verdict, but as they could not meet him after he denied to meet the former teachers, the teachers came in massive protest. 13-May-2020
