In various parts of the capital city Agartala have faced challenges, as trees collapsing have damaged electrical posts, disruption, power connectivity. Various shops and houses were damaged and the rains are continuing, said local reports. Days after the torrential rainfall and widespread destruction caused by Super Cyclone Amphan over east and northeast India, the entire region is once again set to be on the receiving end of heavy rain and inundation threat for the week to come. Accordingly, red alerts have been placed over Assam, Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh between May 26-28, while a severe flood alert has been issued across two Assamese districts. Flood Alerts in Northeast : IMD predicte | AGARTALA, May 26 (TIWN): The Central Water Commission (CWC) of Jal Shakti Ministry on Tuesday issued a flood alert for the Brahmaputra river in three districts of Assam and neighboring states. At a time when the heatwave conditions have intensified in several parts of North India, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Tuesday predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall many parts of Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura during next 5 days. The weather department also said that heavy rainfall will be experienced in adjoining parts of east India during next 48 hours. We were teachers, that is correct. We loved our students, that is correct. Just we want to say, till CM does not acknowledges our pains, we will continue to remind him about thisâ€. Another former teacher said, “Due to COVID-19 we are unable to say anything. We are unable to meet the Chief Minister. Whenever, we try to say anything, police forces are trying to suppress usâ€.“As due to police, we can’t send our voice to CM, standing on that ground, we found a path to reach him out. Flight Services resumes today, Tripura o | AGARTALA / NEW DELHI, May 24 (TIWN): Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) has been developed to face the new challenge under COVID-19 outbreak as the flight passengers will be landing from today in Agartala MBB Airport. Addressing media, Law Minister Ratanlal Nath said that a meeting was held with Airport Authority to develop an SOP to set the procedures of boarding and check-in. He said thermal screening of all passengers is mandatory and all those passengers with foreign travel history in last 28 days, their samples will be collected and till results declared, they will be kept in facilitating quarantine.The Minister further said, if a passenger who wants to leave for his own country Bangladesh via Akhaura checkpost, for him/her a special vehicle has been managed which will take the passenger to Akhaura checkpost.Thus, hotels have been opened so that anyone can stay there but with social distancing. Minister Ratanlal Nath said that anyone wants to reside in hostels must have a proper cause like tickets of travel either rail, bus, flight or medical papers and important reason showing papers. Tripura’s main COVID-19 Treatment | AGARTALA, May 24 (TIWN): In a major relief for the Health care system and authority of the GB hospital, the main COVID-19 centre located at there is now COVID-Free, said a Doctor to media. Total two COVID patients were released from the GB hospital keeping GB hospital without any COIVID-patient existing anymore. However, in the secondary treatment care centre that is the Bhagat Singh treatment centre, right now total 24 patients are under treatment. Among the 24 active cases, 16 were reported yesterday who returned form Maharasthra. Today Bhagat Singh treatment care released 10 patients and then the remaining number remained as 24. However, the total active cases in Tripura are now 24, whereas cases numbers raised to 189 till day. Doctors said that each patient’s conditions are stable, beyond dangers. Tripura man along with 8 m | AGARTALA, May 24 (TIWN): A horrifying report from Telengana once again exposed lockdown without proper preparations, vision how have devastated the poor section of people in whole India. 9 persons committed suicide in Telengana including one person from Tripura by jumping in a well. Ananda Bazar newspaper report shows, by not getting salaries for over 2 months due to lockdown, 9 stranded youths have chosen death by drowning self in a well. Their dead bodies were recovered from Gorekunta village of Hyderabad. Out of the 9 suicidal victims, 6 are from West Bengal (2 persons from a same family) and 2 from Bihar and 1 from Tripura. Police have suspected the case as Mob-Suicide. All the workers, including women, were employed at a local gunny bag manufacturing unit and had even partied on Wednesday evening, before four bodies were found in the open borewell by their supervisor on Thursday.
