AGARTALA, May 16 (TIWN): After a drastic fall of COVID-19 cases in Tripura, in another upsetting update, Tripura has reported with 11 more positive cases in State. On Saturday morning, Chief Minister Biplab Deb has announced, “625 samples have been tested for #COVID19 and among them 11 persons found #COVID19 POSITIVE. 7 people from 86-Bn BSF & 4 civilian from Churaibari Gate (2 driver from other state, 2 people returned from Guwahati). All the POSITIVE patients are under proper medical careâ€. This is a matter of tension as this time, civilians are also tested positive although 2 are transferred to other statesâ€. On yesterday, total 13 patients were released from the GB hospital today after they were tested negative. The day before yesterday also many patients were released from the hospital and right now in the GB hospital 50 patients are under treatment. According to Tripura's health officials, of the 159 Border Security Force (BSF) personnel of two battalions (86th and 138th) and family members who tested positive so far, 40 including two kids have recovered and been discharged from the hospital.

On Friday, talking to media, Dr Pradip Bhowmik said that due to Doctors and Medical staffs continuous breathless struggles, situations are developing fast and hopefully Tripura will become a COVID-free state again and the fight has to continue until defeating the pandemic. Dr Pradip Bhowmik is hoping that soon the AGMC block (GB hospital quarantine centre) can be freed from the patients and Govt’s other centre’s too.
While departing, the recovered patients were congratulated by clapping and staffs from all corners of the hospital clapped together. As per guidelines, the released patients to be kept in 14 days quarantine. A central team is also visiting the state, said that Health Dept’s arrangements are quite satisfactory.
But now with the fresh cases reported, the numbers of COVID-19 cases are again high in State whereas 86th Battalion’s recorded 7 more positive cases.
Visiting Tripura, a Central team however, expressed satisfaction on COVID-19 arrangements in the State.
