First ever visit of Central Health Minis | AGARTALA, Feb 18 (TIWN): After 70 years of independence it’s the first time that any Central Union Health Minister is visiting state Tripura. As a part of vaccination programme the Central Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda on Saturday has administered Rota Virus vaccines to the children of Tripura. The Union Health Minister in his one day visit in Tripura has launched the Rota Virus Vaccination Mission in the presence of Tripura Health Minister Badal Choudhury and other Health Dept Officials under both State and Central Govt. In this regard a programme was organized by Nation Health Mission where Nadda himself administered the vaccine to the first child of Tripura. Congress’s dawn to dusk strike hi | KAILASHAHAR, Feb 18 (TIWN): Tripura Pradesh Congress’s dawn to dusk strike has paralyzed Govt Offices including CJM Office at Kailashahar demanding Dist Hospital’s shifting from the present position and to convert the Dist Hospital into a State Homeopathic College. However, Congress picketers led by PCC Chief Birjit Sinha and Youth Congress leader Sushanta Chowdhury began the strike since early morning 5 AM to evening 5 PM. But the problem occurred when the Congress leaders stopped Dist Magistrate Dhuva Nath to enter inside the Court. A huge clash occurred among police and the picketers on the spot, although police successfully to entered the District Magistrate and another 1st Class Magistrate S Chowdhury inside the court amidst high security. But only 2 judges entered the court whereas other officials were not allowed to enter there. Thus the Court service has been paralyzed. NFR and IRCTC launches “Astha Circ | Maligaon/AGARTALA , Feb 18 (TIWN): Fulfilling the budget promise made by the Railway Minister, N.F.Railway and IRCTC (Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation) have jointly launched the “Astha Circuit Tourist Train†for the convenience of people of NE Region. The special train is said to start from Kamakhya for Puri and Bhubaneswar with stoppage at Kolkata and back to Kamakhya. The press release issued by Chief Public Relations Officer NFR/Maligaon states that for the first time, such type of special dedicated tourist train is being originated from N.F. Railway. The proposed train is said to take travellers to a mix of popular pilgrimage destinations across the eastern part of our country at cheapest available rates which is said to be managed by the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC). Tripura CM’s blessings over Rose | AGARTALA, Feb 18 (TIWN): Multicrore Rose Valley Chit-Fund scam investigation turning more cloudy day after day due to Manik Sarkar Govt’s non-cooperation even after High Court’s order for an independent SIT (Special Investigation). As of January’2017, SIT under the charge of K.V. Sreejesh filed only 20 chargesheets against various Chit Fund scams in Tripura, surprisingly excluding CPI-M’s most favored Rose Valley company. Tripura Police under CBI chargesheeted DGP K. Nagraj assigned IPS officer K.V.Sreejesh to lead SIT investigation. Lameduck reason has been shown that ‘…because CBI is directly investigating the case and already CBI arrested many accused including politicians in this case, so SIT will not take up the case’. Bedlam in Tripura Assembly over financia | AGARTALA, Feb 17 (TIWN): The opening day of the 15-day-long budget session of the Tripura assembly witnessed ruckus over alleged corruption in the Left Front-ruled state. When Governor Tathagata Roy sought to read the first and last pages of his prepared customary speech, the opposition began protests. On that time it was said that the route via Kumarghat-Pecharthal-Dharmanar may help in increasing the speed and accordingly the decision was taken, said Deb. The link was said tol be from Pecahrthal-Kamalpur-Dharmanagar-Agartala-Udaipur-upto Belonia. But presently work on Kumarghat-Pecharthal is in focus. 5 posts : 5000 applicants ! hapless unem | AGARTALA, Feb 16 (TIWN): Tripura’s unemployment rate which has surpassed 7 lakhs already now expanding more largely. In an walk-in-interview called by Govt of Tripura for LDC post under OBC Welfare Dept, atleast 5000 candidates were followed before SC/ ST/ OBC/ Minority office since the morning. Under the sun the hapless unemployed were standing since morning 10 AM. After 2 PM when the lunch hour began the interview was paused, but the energy of the applicants had not end. In the survey of 2015-16 about unemployment percentage per 1000, Tripura scored 56 %, whereas at Urban area its 67 % and in 55 %, beating Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram. In the name of skill development the Govt has failed to provide jobs across rural and urban bodies. Due to lack of industry a huge number of unemployed youths were reported from the state. Among 36 lakhs of its population as per govt record there are 7 lakhs unemployed youths who have entered names in Employment registers. Apart from that the unofficial unemployed rate is touching almost the population number. 48-hour shut-down cripples life in Tripu | Agartala, Feb 16 (TIWN / IANS): Normal life was severely affected in the tension-ridden Gandacherra sub-division in Tripura on Thursday, as a local tribal party called for a 48-hour shut-down to protest "police high-handedness". The state police said that the government, semi-government as well as private offices, educational institutions, banks, shops and business establishments were closed. According to the police, heavy tension has been prevailing in the tribal dominated areas. The Indigenous People's Front of Tripura (IPFT), a tribal-based party, called the 48-hour strike in Gandacherra in tribals-dominated Dhalai district to protest the alleged police "high-handedness" on February 8 when three tribal parties had called a 12-hour bandh to oppose the Centre's citizenship bill. Around 50 persons were injured, four of them critically, when bandh (shut-down) supporters and ruling Left Front members clashed in six places in Tripura on February 8. On Wednesday night, five Tripura State Rifles (TSR) troopers were injured when several hundred IPFT members attacked them. "Huge contingents of TSR, BSF (Border Security Force), CRPF (Central Reserve Police Force) and Assam Rifles led by Inspector General of Police (law and order) K.V. Sreejesh are overseeing the situation in and around the Gandacherra sub-division," a police official said here. | 16-Feb-2017 |
