Tripura,Bengal celebrate Mahanavami with | AGARTALA / KOLKATA, Oct 11 (TIWN): Tripura’s every corner celebrating joyously the Durga Puja as its scheduled to end on Tuesday.Reflecting the festival spirit of sharing and bonding, people from all walks of life including celebrities relished community feasts at marquees and visited friends and relatives on Monday celebrating Mahanavami -- the fourth day of Durga Puja in Tripura and West Bengal. Men - nattily dressed in the festive attire of kurta and pyjama with women resplendent in bright sarees - greeted friends, relatives and other acquaintances, clicked selfies, and idled away their time with banter and fun, relishing the infectious carnival spirit in these two Bengali dominated states. The significance of the puja is the recognition of supreme power of women, who created the whole universe. But for Tripura the Kumari Puja’s significance, empowerment of women is utter contradictory until crimes against women can be brought down . Poor pay scale, 4 % hike in DA, 50 % gap | AGARTALA, Oct 9 (TIWN): Although along with the whole nation Tripura is also celebrating Durga Puja-2016, but there is no relief for the state govt employees from their everyday crisis due to the poor pay scale, less DA with much gaps with the Central Pay scales. The central govt. on the occasion of Saptami enriched Tipura’s potentiality more by gifting Agartala-Sealdah Kanchanjunga Express train, but Tripura CM ended by wishing the people with empty hands, and asking them to maintain the Peace throughout puja. Even after High court orders to clear 31% DA to the state government employees, Tripura government once again in the cabinet meeting deprived its employees by giving only mere 4% DA. It is to be mentioned here that Tripura High Court has ordered the state govt. to pay 31 % DA unless the govt. here doesn’t take any proper DA system and Pay Commissions implement. India Govt. assures electricity for All | AGARTALA, Oct 9 (TIWN): India would have 100 per cent electrification for all by May 1, 2017, Union Power Minister Piyush Goyal said on Saturday. "I am confident that 100 per cent electrification in rural, Left-Wing Extremism (LWE) districts and dense forests would be achieved by May 1, 2017, a year ahead of the schedule Prime Minister Narendra Modi had set," Goyal told reporters on the margins of a two-day conference of power ministers here. Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Uttar Pradesh, Telangana and West Bengal are considered LWE or Maoist affected states. Maha-Saptami marked with Tripura's †| AGARTALA, Oct 8 (TIWN): Under Modi Govt and his Act East Policy, Agartala-Sealdah Kanchanjunga Express train has finally begun its historical journey from Agartala Railway Station at 5.15 AM on Saturday. BJP led Central govt without any party propagation, had decided to gift Tripura with this express train on the occasion of Maha-Saptami, by fulfilling their decade-long demand for Kolkata-Agartala Express Train. The train started at early morning with 21 bogies from Agartala Railway Station and at 7.25 AM it reached at Dharmanagar Railway Station. It left Dharmanagar Railway Station at 8.30 AM.PM Modi’s Act East Policy has been showered on NE, since it came in power in 2014. Other govt couldn’t gift anything to Tripura although meter gauge was anyhow managed in 2008. Tripura Transport Minister Manik Dey opposed the idea of Broad gauge saying, ‘it’s more necessary to maintain the meter-gauge than to launch a new gauge. As patients, old people belong to the minority, the noise pollution is a non-issue here in the state. Various clubs are now busy to show off their power, stability to the society resulting dangerous noise pollution in the state. In many areas, there are more than one club resulting 2 / 3 sound boxes from different clubs are hitting the normal lives of common people. But no action is taken against high sound boxes during day or after night 12 also. The most sufferers are the old people, little babies and those who like to work few hours in day time of puja. DGP K Nagraj however, already said in a press meeting to go for “Mutuality†for pass or other things during puja. So now it can be understood, what is the condition of law & order of the state.Ahead of Durga Puga officials of the State Pollution Control Board get busy ensuring that the noise pollution levels do not exceed the specified levels.According to the Noise Pollution (Regulation and Control) Rules, 2000, as amended in 2012, the noise level at market places between 6am to 10pm should be below 65 dB. The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) would operate the Kanchanjunga Express between Agartala and Sealdah (Kolkata) via Silchar and Guwahati in Assam twice a week. Risks alerts high over Railways & Border | AGARTALA, Oct 7 (TIWN): Central & State security agencies beefed up security measures with the aim to conduct peaceful celebration of Durga Puja in Agartala and other parts of Tripura. As huge number of passengers are coming this year via railway, so security has been tighten in various railway stations also. Along with border area, the railway stations are now under high security focus.Tripura police along with dog squad conducted inspection in several spots of the cities to curb the threats ahead of Republic day celebration. Along with several spots in the city, Security has been beefed up across Tripura and an alert has been sounded along the 856-km-long porous international border to maintain peace during the Durga Puja celebrations.Tripura police along with dog squad was seen conducting raid in different spots of the state to check if there is any threat from the anti social community in this Durga Puja.
