Veterinary students, TIWN’s joint | AGARTALA, July 10 (TIWN): With a historical mark, State Veterinary College has been recognized by Veterinary Council of India (VCI) today with the bold initiative of Minister of Animal Resource Development Santana Chakma who made it possible by her meeting with Union Minister Radha Mohan Singh ( Minister of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare ) today. Talking to TIWN, Veterinary College Principal Dr Bijwal said, “We are very happy that our College now is recognized under VCI and we got the registration which was a much awaiting demand. I have been confirmed about it through a telephonic conversation from the Ministryâ€. Fare hike : Revised passenger fare for B | AGARTALA, July 10 (TIWN): After the State Govt in Tripura hiked 20 % fares, fresh notice has been circulated by state govt in offices dictating how the hiked Farewill be fixed in coming days. According to the recent notification, it has been said that in case of bus fare hikes total Rs. 58.3 paisa per km will be taken whereas in case of AC diesel bus 1.22 rupees will be taken from the passengers. AC-CNG buses will take charges at Rs. 78.40 paisa per km, whereas from CNG Non-AC bus passengers 55.15 paisa will be taken. However after the list has been out, question raises will any bus charge a passenger 2 rupees for 2 km ? How far state govt will check the day-to-day issues ? What about overloading buses ? Due to overloading tendency of the bus driver and conductor 1 hour's journey everyday turns 2.30 hours journey ? In case of ‘Public Carriage (Good Transport) rate shall be fixed at Rs. 47.84 paisa only per quintal per kilometer (applicable for the distance of loading to unloading point). In many schools same problems were reported during Minister's visit and it has been seen that amid teachers crisis teachers are taking leaves. However, as they take the leaves according to the facilities which govt-job preserved for govt employees, nothing can be done with that much, but Ratan Lal Nath has checked whether proper system was followed when taking leaves. The Principal of the school was also in official leave but arrived in school with Minister’s arrival. Triple Celebration ! Agartala Airport re | AGARTALA, July 10 (TIWN): It will be indeed triple celebration of Agartala Airport’s renaming and the 3rd one will be held shortly in the presence of heavyweight central Minister Suresh Prabhu, the Civil Aviation Minister. At first state govt had announced officially about renaming of Airport after Tripura King Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya on March 10 when the first cabinet meeting of the BJP-govt was held.
