AGARTALA, July 8 (TIWN): CPI-M National General Secretary Sitaram Yechury on Sunday raised issues related to serious breakdown of Law & Order under Biplab Deb's misrule in a Press Meet organized at CPI-M Melarmath HQ. Biplab Deb led Tripura Govt's role in mob-lynching and failure to handle ongoing violence, Yechury termed the Biplab Govt as an utter “failure†to maintain law and order. CPI-M General Secretary also has announced that on July 24 ahead of Parliament session’s beginning, a mass agitation will be oranized in front of the parliament to draw nation’s attention on Tripura-lynching, breakdown of Law & Order. Addressing in a press conference at state CPI-M Headquarter, Sitaram Yechury said, “I have come here to report on the 22nd party congress meeting’s decision which was concluded in the month of April at Hyderabad.
But when I came here to report the state committee regarding party congress’s decision I was informed about the ongoing violence in the state of Tripura and the atmosphere of terror which started immediately after BJP-IPFT came into power. We have lost four of our comrades who were brutally murdered along with attacks upon activists and party offices”.
“Observing the ongoing violence in Tripura, we are telling the State govt to maintain the law and order, but State Govt has totally failed to maintain the law and order of the state which is evident from the lynching episodes with the rumour of child lifters and one of the Ministers (Ratan Lal Nath) is actually involved in rumours. This is unprecedented that the State Govt which is responsible for the law and order of the state its own Minister who took oath under the constitution, is himself involved in such activities. Even the SC has condemned on observing on this matter”, Yechury told media here.
“It’s RSS/BJP which is patronizing the terror and violence in this area. So central committee of CPI-M has decided that we will organize a national level protest in this issue in front of the Parliament when the Parliament session begins, which will be organized by the Left Parties together against the murderer of democracy in Tripura & West Bengal”, Yechury added.
This mass demonstration will be held on 24th June ahead of Parliament session’s beginning targeting to make it a national issue, said Yechury.
“The whole protest will be a part of draw the attention of the whole country to know what is happening in Tripura under BJP, RSS”, Yechury added.
Yechury futher mocked at BJP for observing ‘Black Day’ remembering Indira Gandhi’s emergency but here in Tripura all is going on is the ‘Murder of Democracy’.
