AGARTALA, July 8 (TIWN): Health cum Science, Technology & Environment Minister Sudip Barman launched ‘Plastic Ban’ is now active allover Tripura, especially in urban bodies.
In compare to other subdivisions in Tripura, Udaipur subdivision under Gomati District is going ahead on plastic banning in real sense.
TIWN report says that plastic using have been curbed heavily in Udaipur and purchasers and sellers joint efforts are visible in plastic-banning at there.
Being asked by media, Gomati District DM T K Debnath said, “Plastic was banned earlier also in state, but it couldn’t go for long due to some unknown reason, but Gomati District administration will not stop till plastic uses are totally removed”.
DM also said, it’s in plan that in coming days after proper warning and awareness if a shop is found serving plastic carry bags then the owner of the shop will be fined at Rs. 1000 and if any person is found carrying plastic bags s/he will be fined Rs. 100.
TIWN talked both customers and the shop-keepers regarding this. Both parties said, they do not have any problem to obey the rule prescribed by the State Govt.
From fish market to fruit shops nobody is using plastic anymore at Udaipur.
