AGARTALA, Nov 7 (TIWN): CPI-M State Secretary, Opposition leader Jiten Chowdhury accused BJP leadership of nominating goons as AMC candidates – alleging the miscreants who were hired for “chappa” votes have been nominated by BJP as the candidates.

"Under nine years of BJP rule here, it’s so poisonous and toxic but now it’s going to be worse if such candidates win the polls,” Chowdhury said, talking about the upcoming municipality elections.

Chowdhury also expressed why the party wanted an alliance with Congress which would prevent the vote-divisions amongst the oppositions.
