AGARTALA, Nov 5 (TIWN): Two persons were arrested by Airport Police in Agartala after 875 bottles of prohibited Eskuf cough syrup, with an estimated black-market value of Rs. 10 lakh, were recovered during a raid in the Nabagram Chowmuhani area on Wednesday night.

According to police, the operation was conducted at the residences of Shubhankar Saha and Dipankar Saha under Airport Police Station limits, following a tip-off about the alleged storage of illegal substances.

During the search, police recovered 875 bottles of Eskuf cough syrup and detained both individuals. The estimated black-market value of the seized consignment is around Rs. 10 lakh, police said.

An NDPS case has been registered at Airport Police Station, and an investigation has been initiated to determine the source of the seized cough syrup and whether the accused were involved in a wider network of illegal drug distribution.
