AGARTALA, Sep 17 (TIWN): On the occasion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday, a series of public activities were organised in Banamalipur, including a cleanliness drive, interaction with beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY), and an inspection of ongoing development work at Agartala Railway Station.

A Swachh Bharat Abhiyan programme was organised at the Kali Temple premises in Dhalesswar 10th Road area under Ward No. 25 of Banamalipur Mandal. Rajya Sabha MP Rajib Bhattacharjee participated in the programme and joined local participants in cleaning the temple premises. The initiative also highlighted the importance of maintaining cleanliness and promoting the message of the Swachh Bharat Mission.

During the day, Bhattacharjee also visited the homes of beneficiaries receiving assistance under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. He interacted with the beneficiaries and exchanged views with them on various issues. As part of the birthday observance, he handed over pictures of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and lamps to the beneficiaries.

The Rajya Sabha MP also visited Agartala Railway Station to review the ongoing construction and development works being undertaken under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. He inspected different parts of the station and discussed the progress and various aspects of the redevelopment work with officials and those associated with the project.

The activities formed part of the programmes organised in connection with the Prime Minister’s birthday, combining cleanliness initiatives, interaction with welfare-scheme beneficiaries and an on-ground review of railway infrastructure development.

Bhattacharjee also extended his wishes for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s good health and long life.
