SABROOM, Oct 29 (TIWN): Police arrested CPI-M protestors in Sabroom National Highway when the CPI-M activists were protesting against increasing fuel prices. During the protest, many IPFT and BJP members joined with CPI-M and raised voice against fuel price hikes.
As petrol, diesel prices are increasing, it is directly affecting the other commodity prices. Over this issue the Democratic Youth Federation and Tribal Youth Federation today staged a protest movement by blocking National Highway in Sabrum Kalachara. MLA of 39 Manu Assembly constituency, Prabhat Chowdhury was present in the program. This "Chakka Jam" program held for hours, caused heavy traffic jams.
After receiving a road blockade report, SDPO Lalhim Moulsam along with a huge force rushed to the spot, detained the protestors and took them to Thailiktoisa Community Hall.
Reportedly, BJP booth member Fulendra Tripura and IPFT leader Sanjiv Tripura supported and joined today’s leftist organisations Protest. Total 16 people leaving the BJP-IPFT party joined CPI-M and total 123 people were reportedly arrested by Police during the protest programme.
