AGARALA, April 30 (TIWN): Remembering Bijon Setu massacre Ananda Marga conducted a rally at Agartala on Sunday.
Bijon Setu refers to the killing and burning of 16 monks and a nun belonging to Ananda Marga at Bijon Setu, near Baliganj, Kolkata under West Bengal on April 30, 1982.
Despite the attacks being carried out in broad daylight, no arrests were ever made.
After repeated calls for a formal judicial investigation, a single-member judicial commission was set up to investigate the killings.
However, on Sunday rally at Agartala the protesters said that atleast 17 saints were killed on that time by CPI-M cadres. Apart from that many similar incidents were held in India by the same political group.
The raised question, why CPI-M always targets Ananda Marga for their attacks, when religious propaganda is everyone's right in India.
