AGARTALA, April 25 (TIWN): Being the 39th Central BJP Minister to visit in Tripura after Modi Govt came in power at Centre, Prem Prakash Choudhury, Central Minister for IT and Law on Tuesday in a press conference held at BJP Head Quarter said, "Instead of greenery, natural resources available in Agartala and other places of the state, Tripura Govt could not utilize its potentialities. The aim of the state govt is to keep the poor people as poor forever". Criticizing the ruling left front govt, Choudhury said, "Due to lack of proper initiatives to build up industries, the source of income remained slow here resulting increasing crimes in the society". Stressing upon generating employment in Northeast India, the Minister said, "Centre is keen to develop the Northeast zone and aimed to generate employment through industrialization. A huge amount will be spent for Northeast among the 48,000 crores of budget allocated for software development and opening BPOs". The Minister further criticized the State Govt for not implementing 7th pay commission whereas maximum states are enjoying the pay commission already
The Minister also gave a signal for CBI inquiry against Chit Fund saying, 'As CBI has taken the cases in hand we have faith in them, which led West Bengal leaders to jail. In case of Tripura CBI will also do proper inquiry ofcourse we believe'.
About SMART City project the Minister said that a 500 crores of budget to be sanctioned soon to convert Agartala City as a SMART City.
'Agriculture will be boosted heavily and border haats, Indo-Bangla relations will be given the upmost priority, he added.
