TIWN Feb 6, 2017
AGARTALA, Feb 6 (TIWN): To avoid any untoward incident on Feb 8, security has been tightened across Tripura ADC areas.
On Feb 8th Tripura’s 3 regional parties have jointly called for a strike protesting against Citizenship-Bill-2016 which has been proposed by Modi Govt for Hindus residing in India and came in India before 2014.
In this joint move INPT, IPFT, NCT members sitting together told media that protesting against the Citizenship-Bill-2016 amendment will hamper the tribals across the Country and this bill should not be applicable in Tripura.
However, the ruling party CPI-M said that the bill is contradictory in the sense as it is only for Hindu’s welcoming in India. Modi govt’s call for Hindu citizenship who came before 2014’s 31st December was a good proposal but the religion’s people should include in that bill. Apart from that CPI-M has no problem with the bill.
Also the CPI-M has opposed the strike and declared that all will be open on Feb 8th. In this regard to avoid any unwanted clashes the security arrangement has been tighten up across hills and other ADC areas in Tripura.
