AGARTALA, May 19 (TIWN): Bishalgarh police have arrested one local named Hannan Mia. He is a resident of Matinagar, and was arrested from Rastar Matha area.
In this connection, some more suspects are in police rudder.
NIA team has reached from Guwahati. After transit remand, the detained person would be taken to Guwahati by NIA team.
The arrest was made in connection to 2023 human trafficking case, said Bishalgarh PS OC-Rana Chatterjee.
Tripura borders have become the corridor for smuggling and human trafficking. Amid regular arrests, the trafficking cases remained rampant.
