TELAIMURA, May 19 (TIWN): Increasing drug smuggling via Railway has raised concerns as once again police recovered hidden cannabis from a train. Based on secret information, Railway police raided a train and found at least 14 Kg of Ganja from the train. However, police could not arrest anyone in this connection. The cannabis was kept hidden under the train seat but those who are connected to this racket, it’s yet clueless.
Police initially started an investigation to find out the culprits behind it.
This is not an isolated incident as during regular checking Ganja sacks are being seized frequently from rails.
Talking to media, a police official said, “We raided the train in civil dress after the train reached at 3 pm. Nobody was found with the Ganja packets. A total of 7 packets of Ganja were seized from there weighing around 14 Kg. The seized ganja’s worth would be around Rs. 1 lakh.”
