TIWN Jan 18, 2017
AGARTALA, Jan 18 (TIWN): When Modi Govt's demonetization is executed successfully and the period of demonetization ended on Dec 31st, the CPI-M nation-wide has called for a 5 day long protest which is scheduled to begin from January 27, almost 1 month of Post-Demonetization. A survey said that the minimum public-supports from each and every states received is atleast 72 % whereas the support level has be up to 92 %. CPI-M has called all the opposition parties to join in their protest, whereas already TMC, AAP, Congress have retracted their protest schedule and planning for further new issues to be stressed. Last time, CPI-M held a strike in Tripura and Kerala and partly at West Bengal going against all the oppositions.
Reacting over CPI-M’s 12 hrs strike Congress Chief Birjit Sinha told TIWN, “We do not support CPI-M as it has no unity. All the oppositions had planned for a joint move against Modi Govt. Why CPI-M has in separate called for a strike. Due to this policy of CPI-M we do not support them”.
However, how far support this time CPI-M will get it’s to be seen. But the main issue to be seen is that after 1 month of Post-Demonetization, what value will this protest keep ?
Addressing the media, BJP President Biplab Deb said, “When everything is done, CPI-M’s protest is so funny. Already receiving public support, the demonetization was held successfully across the whole country. Now what affect it will bring against Central Govt’s decision taken in 2016’s month of November?”
“CPI-M by not supporting cashless is paving the way for Terrorism and in this way all Maobadis had been operating till day”, said Deb.
It’s worthy to mention here that CPI-M will raise 10 issues in their 5 day long protest :
Total 10 demands will be placed by CPI-M during this 5 day protest:
1. As Dec 30th has already passed so people should be allow to withdraw money as per his / her wish,
2. To help financially the farmers as they suffered due to demonetization,
3. Increase MGNREGA fund,
4. To compensate the deceased families who died in demonetization,
5. The people who lost job during demonetization, should be given compensation,
6. The people who are exchanging by cash, should be given discount,
7. Preserve the rural banking system,
8. To compensate the state govt for the loss due to demonetization,
9. Cash-less economy can not be imposed on the state govt.
10. To confirm commodities in ration cards of every citizens.
However from 27th January to 31st January how far the protest will be fruitful for the party or all will be wastage of party funds… it’s to be seen.
