AGARTALA, April 2 (TIWN) : After much protest rallies here in Tripura by Tripura’s one of the opposition parties , i.e. BJP, is now silent after the state govt. didn’t bother discuss the issue of sugar price among themselves. Surprisingly, BJP is also silent now whereas this party warned CPI-M to decrease the price hike within 48 hours whereas more than 2 week have been passed after that warning.

It is to be mentioned here that the State Government here in Tripura had announced about the increase in the price of sugar by Rs. 6 in every kilogram in the ration shops, which was to be implemented from April 1.

Although the sudden price hike has posed a threat to the common people, but Govt.’s decision has not changed.

However, with the announcement by the state Govt. Tripura BJP protested massively against the decision of the state govt.

BJP staged protest in front of the food and civil supplies office at Gurkhabasti and the representative team of the state BJP also placed deputation to Food director and demanded to lessen the price of the sugar.

Then it was on March 14 that  as a part of the state wide movement against price-hike, BJP again came into mass protest and in various subdivision, the party held this protest rally.

BJP on that day warned to decrease the price of sugar within 48 hours, but it’s to be mentioned here that the state BJP has crossed maximum time duration with more than 2 weeks, but the govt. here didn’t bothered to look into BJP’s issue.

Question arises, opposition parties always here stop after few rallies, but in reality they do nothing; and taking this opportunity govt. is used to implement prices as per its wishes.
