AGARTALA, Feb 8 (TIWN) : Transport system, which has become one of the highest pathos for the commoners of Tripura, is getting worse day by day with the negligence of PWD. ‘Development’ is controlled by particular areas of the state, but the people from interior parts are the common sufferers due to the low standard of work.

However, in the matter of road-way, the whole Tripura is suffering for road-way's continuous deplorable conditions and after the repairing also the roads become as they were.

The main reason behind the condition of the roads related to the  basic construction of the work. Reportedly, the road-ways, which are controlled by local contractors by made using cheap materials. As a result, the road breaks down within few months of the construction.

However, although many allegations have been coming against the poor quality of work under PWD Dept. but the low standard work and continues in state.

Such a road which is getting constructed from Murtichara to Karaital, at Kailashahar, is of same quality.

The road will cover total 2 and half km . But the bricks which are being used in that work are of very low category.

As a result, it has been assumed that the road will break down within few months after the completion of works. However, this has become very common for Tripura’s road-way users.

Although the sign board of central govt.’s scheme has been put before the construction work, but nobody is there to observe the quality of the work. Question arises, how can the contractor use cheap material in the govt. work if the authorities were strict enough?

Central govt’s Rural Development scheme has brought this work with the investment of Rs. 2,21,31,441/- The work was given to HSCL, Tripura Govt. But allegations are coming that the quality of the work is very low and crores of embezzlement has been done with this project.
