AGARTALA, Feb 6 (TIWN): With an aim to utilize the voter rights of the people in the Amarpur constituency, state government has declared paid holiday on February 13 at the Amarpur constituency.
Reportedly, the people who are running shops, industry, daily labours of brick kiln and others will be for the day so that they can go for casting vote.
Therefore, on the day of Amarpur election the labour department has declared the day as paid holiday.
It is to be mentioned here that right to vote and the exercise of this franchise are the pulse of every democracy.
However, in the Indian Constitution provisions are enacted regarding structure, powers and functions of the Election commission.
According to Article 326, elections to the House of the People and to the Legislative Assemblies of States should be on the basis of Adult Suffrage.
Adult Suffrage is the right to vote given to every adult citizens of India, who is above 18 years of age, with the vision of maximum participation and providing an opportunity to the youth to select their leaders.
With strategies of electoral process, every citizen or the country would have right to know, inquire and ensure the particulars of the candidate who is to represent them in the Parliament.
However, the election for the Amarpur constituency has been scheduled to be held on February 13. The process of election is expected to complete by February 28 and the counting is expected to conduct on February 16.
