AGARTALA, Feb 6 (TIWN): Ruling Government where spends lakhs of money in the election campaign, they are least bothered to shape up the fate of around Rs.69 crores (till December) of electricity bills to the Tripura State Electricity Corporation Limited.

Talking to TIWN correspondent, Senior Manager of Revenue Department Falguni Biswas stated that State Government department is yet to pay around Rs.69 crores (till December) of electricity bills to the Tripura State Electricity Corporation Limited.

Earlier she mentioned that the Power Department has already forwarded a detail copy of the pending bills to all the Government Department whose electricity bill crosses the limited line Rs. 1 lakh including a soft copy.

She further mentioned that some of the department has cleared an amount but a huge amount bill is yet pending.

It is to be mentioned here that TSECL is supposed to give above Rs. 100 crore to OTPC and also a huge amount to NEEPCO.

Now the question arises if the State Government does not pay the bills on time than how the TSECL will pay the bill to both the organization.

It is to be mentioned here that despite of stunning figures of pending bills; the power connection to the departments cannot not be disconnected as most of their services come under the emergency category.

The Government departments with multiple connections usually don’t pay bills on a regular basis because of budgetary constraints. Most of them pay only when they are granted funds by the State government.

Now the question is why the State Government is delaying in clearing up the bills of the Power Department. Why the bill has increased and why they are not cleared on time.

However, when the state government spends huge amount for the election campaign they are least bothered to clear the bills of the TSECL.

On the other hand, CM where claims that the state is developing faster than any other state, hundreds of patients are laying on the floor of the GBP Hospital due to lack of beds. Besides, the patients are also suffering from due to negligence of doctors and staff.

However, before the election where all the political parties enthusiastically unveil several party manifestos with several promises but later after winning the election the bundles of promises turn in to empty promises.
