AGARTALA, May 2 (TIWN): Family members left in trauma, screamed seeing the unexpected, lifeless body of young man Dipraj, who started his journey to Assam with dreams of becoming a Banker. His dead body reached home today and given funeral. Tripura State Cooperative Bank has been under massive criticism for the last few days after it set an examination venue in Assam for 156 posts’ recruitment. Amid the ongoing protests, Cooperative Bank remained strict on its decision to conduct the exam in Assam. On the way to Assam, a terrible bus accident in Dima Hasoa injured many job aspirants who were on their way to Assam to appear in the examination. Young man Dipankar Debbarma has died in the accident.
CM Dr Manik Saha has condoled the death and expressed concerns over the injured persons’ health situation. CM said, his government will stand beside the families at this hard time.
The deceased Dipankar Debbarma got married four months back. His unexpected death has left his family in deep shock.
Various organizations staged protest in Tripura on Friday after the tragic death of Dipraj Debbarma in a road accident. The bus accident that has left one dead and many injured on the way to Assam has triggered resentment among the public, as the issue about the exam venue in Assam was raided before the Bank authority multiple times. AIDSO staged a protest, and blamed Cooperative Bank’s neglected role caused Dipraj’s death.
Congress, CPI-M wings also staged protests at the Cooperative Bank.
Tripura Govt accommodated a bus service under TRTC but the job aspirants have boycotted the service.
So far the exam has not been cancelled by Cooperative Bank, which has been considered as extreme “arrogance” by critics.
Cooperative Bank came under controversy for putting its venue in Assam for Tripura job candidates. But the Bank did not change its decision and amid bad weather, many candidates rushed to Assam. On way to Assam, the accident snatched life and many injured.
