AGARTALA, Jan 25 (TIWN): On the occasion of 150th establishment day of Tripura police, Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Thursday said, that due to Tripura police’s dedication and hard efforts, it was possible to improve the law and order in this state in the last few years. CM Manik Saha stated, out of 28 states in India Tripura ranks 3rd in law and order maintenance. “Tripura Police is just prop-people. They are friendly to the people which has helped the state to curb the crimes and various problems. We should be thankful to the visionary kings of Tripura for initiating the Tripura police’s establishment in the state during that time and our police force are working day night to uphold the glory of the police department”, said CM.

“Whereas police remain friendly to people, at the same time, any person violating laws will not be pardoned. All law violators has to be strictly dealt”, he added.

CM Manik Saha who holds the Home Department too, was appointed as Tripura CM on May 14, 2022 removing the then CM Biplab Deb during whose regime, political hooliganism went to an extreme level. Attacks on media spiked up with rising vandalism and political attacks across the state. CM Manik Saha curbed such crimes; though yet facing difficulties to destroy the narcotic empire in this state.

DGP Amitabh Ranjan along with other high-level police officials was present with CM Manik Saha to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the Tripura police formation program in Pragna Bhawan.
