BOXANAGAR, Nov 28 (TIWN): Juba Morcha Mandal President of Boxanagar Jimul Halk was arrested in connection to corruption. There are also extortion charges against him.
He is accused of cross-border illegal works, including entering Bangladesh citizens via Tripura border. He is locally known as the Border Godfather.
Local people wrote a letter to Chief Minister Manik Saha recently after collecting signatures from public.
Kalamchoura police detained him yesterday night 2.30 am to examine the allegation.
A specific case has been registered against Jumul Halk at Kalamchoura PS. Case No-384/505/420
