AGARTALA / NEW DELHI, December 30 (TIWN Exclusive): Whatever the CPI(M) led state govt under Chief Minister Manik Sarkar's 'Golden Era' campaigns for its development activities in the state during its long and continuous rule, the various reports especially the Planning Commission reports ridicule such organized campaigns of the state govt and CPI(M) party. During the past 19 years of CPI(M) Left Front Govt ( mostly under Manik Sarkar as CM) Planning Commission of India allocated Rs 86000 crore as its budgetery fund to Tripura. It means that at an average Planning Commission has sanctioned Rs 11.85 lakh per family. But the following statistics will show that the rate of development in Tripura is far from its desired rate.According to 11th Planning Commission's report Tripura is in the 27th position in Gross Domestic Production ( GDP) among 28 states in India.

Following is the GDP rate of some of the states:-

1) Gujarat........11%

2) Uttarakhand..12%

3) Nagaland.......8.4

4) Manipur..........11.5%

5) Arunachal........10.4%

6) Tripura .............7.5%

In the Industrial Sector too Tripura is far behind compared to other states of India. Here is a glimpse of Industrial Growth in India :-

1) Uttarakhand..............12%

2) Himachal Pradesh...14.5%

3) West Bengal..............11%

4) Tripura .......................8%

In educational sector Tripura's position is even far more dismal in the North Eastern Region. As per Planning Commission's Report the number of Higher Secondary Schools per 1 lakh population is as follows:

1) Mizoram ........56

2) Manipur .........31

3) Meghalaya......29

4) Tripura ............20

And the existence of college as per population is:-

1) Mizoram .....1 college per 84 thousand population

2) Mizoram.......1 college per 35 thousand population

3) Manipur .......1 college per 39 thousand population

4) Tripura ..........1 college per 2 lakh 37 thousand population.

In an even more shameless way State Finance Department as on 1st January 2010 showed that the total number of Govt employees in Tripura ( Group A+ Group B+ Group C) was 87262 while as per AGs record the number of Govt employees in the state ( Group A+ Group B+ Group C ) was 75245. It means that state Finance Department showed 12017 numbers of additional employees as on 1st January 2010. Thus, only by showing 12017 addtional employees state govt has been receiving Rs 216 crore 30 lakh 60 thousand annually.

Again due to the state govt's negative policy on employment only in 14 years the number of registered unemployed youths increased 4 lakh 29 thousand. During the 1998 Assembly Election CPI(M) in its Election Manifesto showed that the number of registered unemployed youths was 2 lakh while in 2013 Assembly Election CPI(M) manifesto showed that the number of registered unemployed youths was 6 lakhs 29 thousand.

CPI(M) and Left Front and even Chief Minister Manik Sarkar used to say that Centre has asked to stop recruitment. But that too is toally baseless. On 20/11/2005 Union Finance Ministry in its 6 pages circular said that the States should keep a target of reduction of 2% posts which are lying vacant for more than 6 moths. But CPI(M) is totally misguiding  the people of the state saying that Centre has instructed yo stop new recruitment.
