DHARMANAGAR, Nov 26 (TIWN): Several political attacks took place in Dharmanagar in the last 24 hours and Congress Bhawan was one of the targets. On Tuesday night, the Congress Bhawan was set on fire by miscreants. By that time the police reached, miscreants escaped.

After a fire incident, in the daytime, the Congress Bhawan was allegedly again attacked  by a group of miscreants. In that attack many Congress members were injured serverely and hospitalized.

Congress party members who visited the spot, accused BJP of being behind the attack.

“If they (BJP) think that by such attacks, Congress can be broken off, they are getting it wrong. The more attacks on us, the stronger we will be,” said a Congress leader.

“This is shameful also for the people of Dharmanagar that the age-old Congress Bhawan was attacked with such nuisance,” he said. “I appeal to the people of Dharmanagar to raise above fear and come forward to protect democracy.”

In another separate incident, it was seen that BJP supporters in front of police attacked CPI-M rally in Dharmanagar. Such instances raise questions over the law and order situation as it’s a wild display of organized attacks by the ruling party.
