AGARTALA, Aug 19 (TIWN): Per capita income which has been increasing every year since 1947 in India, has been cited by Biplab Deb to prove the economy is developing and also claimed it determines the income of the poor people.

First of all, per capita was never down since India's independence but if the Price hikes are checked from cooking gas to cooking oil, daily commodities, petrol, diesel, the per capita income rise is nothing. Moreover, this has no link with the reality as talking to the daily workers, they have been constantly saying that their conditions are pathetic under this present Govt. 

Biplab Deb was trolled in social media for his use of language against the rickshaw drivers. He said, when he was a school student no rickshaw driver gave him a ride from school to his home even after he offered 10 rupees to the rickshaw drivers, because the drivers were found rather busy in puffing Bidi but now under the BJP Govt, work-culture has developed and thus their income increased to Rs. 1.35 lakhs.

Reacting over his statement, CPI-M leader Pabitra Kar said, rickshaw drivers are unable to manage their daily rickshaw rents to the owners and what CM is saying has no connection with the reality.
