Agartala, October 31 (TIWN): Tripura Road Transportation Corporation (TRTC), one of the major organizations connecting vehicular movement within and outside state has been now turning into a concern with drying revenue generator in recent months.
“TRTC organization has fazed up into a gloomy look with dip in number of working staff from 1,200 to around 400 now,” said a source of TRTC here today. The Head Office of the concern has been given on lease to Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) for operating revenue generation for TRTC staff by state government in recent time.

Finger could be raised on moves by Tripura Transport Minister Manik Dey lately, for dilapidation of TRTC’s pathetic condition that generates poor sum as revenue for its employees on current months. Around 5 acre land assets of TRTC was sold to different private organizations with no alternatives left for the state government, which has been mismanaged by handful of people in administration of TRTC and government inside the oldest governmental organization for transportation in state.

TRTC has become an overlooked organization that should have been a pride for the state government as one among its rich heritage in Tripura, that is gradually getting erased from the preserved chapter of Manik Sarkar government. The organization that used to run on 86 routes has now been reduced to around 20 routes in recent times.

The farm has been reluctant on measures to improvise TRTC’s infrastructure and has rather counted it as one of the organizations in state that has neared its closing days, wiping out the privilege of TRTC during its heydays.

TRTC Model vehicles though run through few routes in the state from – Agartala to Kailashahar, Agartala to Silachari and Agartala to Gandacherra via Amarpur. But questions of development of TRTC have remained awful in state, which was pretended as illusionary topic for the people by directing more passengers towards private transportatios in state.
