Former 'Headlines Tripura' Journalist Anupam Paul sent in Jail custody till June 27

AGARTALA, June 25 (TIWN): Former Headlines Tripura TV Channel Journalist, Congress IT Cell member & former BJP-IT cell head Anupam Paul who was arrested at Delhi, in connection with Case No: West Agartala PS 83 / 2019 for spreading defamatory information about Chief Minister Biplab Deb’s family, has sent for jail custody till June 27.

Paul was arrested at Delhi first on June 13 and at there he was produced in Metropolitan court for transit remand.

The Delhi court had accepted the plea and on 16th June he was brought in Agartala and produced before the CJM court and demanding 5 days police remand. Court accepted 3 days police remand.

Later, police demanded more time for police remand but the court didn’t permit for that however allowed police to interrogate Paul in Jail custody.

Later, on June 20 again 6 days police remand was demanded in connection with another case and court accepted 5 days police remand.

After 5 days police remand again Anupam Paul was produced before the court and the prayer of the I/O was to send him in jail custody. Accordingly, court has sent him in jail custody till June 27.
