Tripura Flooding : Modi Govt’s prompt action engage Central Forces, Army in rescue operation, CM Biplab Deb undertakes aerial survey, Opposition Leader ‘Comrade’ Manik hides under A/C luxury

AGARTALA, June 15 (TIWN): Eventhough Central Forces have been deployed with Govt’s initiative, but question raises in last year how many time Tripura’s former Chief Minister Manik Sarkar took pain to visit flood affected areas like Biplab Deb, who is taking at least Aerial surveys. After Gandacherra visit Manik Sarkar alleged to face ‘Go Back’ slogan but when flood is hitting each corner of the state, comrade Manik Sarkar is absent as like before. Earlier also during flood, the former Chief Minister had hardly made visits in affected areas. This is the first time that state Tripura is directly getting Central Govt’s help with huge numbers of NDRF have been deployed in state. Indeed Minister Ratan Lal Nath said, no state govt in Tripura took so fast decision to control flood before the current govt.

Huge numbers of NDRF teams have been deployed in the rescue operations in flood affected areas of Tripura.

Two teams of NDRF who are already existing in state and 2 more from Silchar are continuing the rescue operation.

25 boats with 110 NDRF officials from Ghaziabad have joined in the operation as around 500 people yet to be rescued.

Assam Rifles, BSF, Army jawans are also in action and helicopters have been kept ready to function anytime if emergency arises.

While addressing media after cabinet meeting, Minister Ratan Lal Nath announced that such a flood Tripura didn’t experience recently and no state govt before today could take such a fast decision by calling national teams.

Five columns of Assam Rifles have been operating at Kailashahar along with NDRF to rescue people. Local resources and boats from fishermen have been pooled in for rescue operations. Rescue & relief operations along with NDRF team & DC Gomati are still under progress.

When state is suffering from flood, affected areas even though expected opposition leader Manik Sarkar to stay with them, but so far Manik Sarkar has not be spotted, whereas in last year when Manik Sarkar was CM, Biplab Deb party president visited various spots to meet the victims.
