AGARTALA, May 24 (TIWN): 462 Hapless Tripura youths pathetic living conditions were exposed in South Indian Mills after their pathetic food arrangements by the Textile Industries. Poor youths went to South India for jobs @Rs 250/day daily labor after being selected via job fairs under the initiative of state govt. However, today few images have been shared by the workers with media, whereas if state govt doesn’t take action more pictures of the whole hostel to be exposed. Food quality at there is basically pathetic, no proper management for drinking water is there and also the living condition, including the bathrooms are also in miserable and unhealthy shape. The youths have demanded state govt’s intervention in this issue immediately. They alleged, “We are treated by the companies in exactly the opposite way, which they proposed while offering jobs”. Now as the CM is in South India, they youths are expecting some actions in this regard. However, Tripura Govt wanted to send 4000 youths to those companies but around 1600 got the appointment letters and only 462 among them finally left Tripura to join in those companies.

But within 15 days of passage tragic reports are coming regarding their pathetic living conditions in the name of free fooding and lodging.

A two day long job fair was conducted from April 25 to 26 by “Southern India Mills Association" (SIMA).

The Tripura youths were provided by state govt with a special train for traveling on May 8 whereas after reaching at there the companies were to give them free accommodation and also manage free meals.

It was said that after 3 months of training they will be recruited by the companies as regular employees.

Right now the youths are even not being provided with proper meals, neither they are paid the deserved honoriums and bound to live in very unhealthy situations.

South Indian Textile mills under "Southern India Mills Association" (SIMA) had proposed many states including Tripura and the Tripura Government responded immediately.

Presently Tripura is topping in unemployment rate, whereas Chief Minister Biplab Deb has challenged to appoint 7 lakhs youths within next 30 months in various jobs.
