AGARTALA, April 29 (TIWN): Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Deb on Sunday reacting over the ‘paan-shop’ & ‘cow-breeding’ controversies, said, “I said nothing wrong indeed. I am building attitude for Income among the youthsâ€. “The previous Communist Govt had failed to create positive mentality for work and livelihood among the youths which created 7 lakhs of unemployed youths. It’s Govt’s duty to develop the attitude among the youths towards income. It was a programme of animal husbandry and I told all the officers to create 10 jobs by each of them via animal husbandry. Income doesn’t mean working in a big building and ofcourse it may be Cow breeding, Pig farming, Poultry farming or via Mudra Bank. So, the mentality of youths has to be reshapedâ€.
The controversy had erupted after CM asked his state’s youths on ‘World Veterinary Day’, instead of running after politicians for Govt jobs, they should open ‘paan’ shops and buy cows at homes.
According to Biplab Deb, instead of running after parties for long 10 years if they bought a cow, then it could earn him lakhs. Also he suggested, if they open a paan shop it will also become their livelihood and they will not need any govt job then.
This remark was heavily reacted after the Chief Minister continuously gave 3 more shocking remarks including hitting India’s beauty Queen Diana Hayden.
The first controversy which nationally made the Chief Minister popular had sparked, when he said, “Internet and satellites existed in Mahabharata-Era and via Internet Sanjay was giving live updates of Kurukshetra war to the blind king Dritarashtra”.
The second blow was CM’s claim about, Diana Hayden didn’t deserve the Miss-World award as she doesn’t look like an Indian woman and her style is unworthy to represent India. Indian women should be like Goddess Laxmi, Saraswati and Aishwarya Rai is still fine to title as Miss World. Not only this, CM also claimed there was no credit any Indian woman to get the Miss World or Miss Universe awards at all as such beauty-contests are fake and ramp walks are just for “shows”. The awardees names are selected before the competition.
Then he said in Civil Service day, Mechanical engineers should not go for Civil Service but Civil Engineers should go.
Finally, the 4th lead was when he asked state’s 8 lakhs youths to open paan-shop or breed cows for livelihood instead of running after politicians for jobs.
Today CM has repeated his comment saying, “Job doesn’t mean to work in a huge building or corporate sector. Tripura Govt is now working to provide 3000 jobs in 100 days. So, govt is trying to change the attitude of the youths”.
