‘Tripura Govt taking steps to properly | AGARTALA, June 29 (TIWN): The Secretary, Home Department on Saturday reflected on three newly enacted three Criminal Laws today through a press conference at the Secretariat. The three criminal laws are : Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam (BSA). Talking to the media, the Secretary said, as nationwide the law will be implemented from July 1, and in Tripura too it will be implemented. He stated, “Under the new laws it is said that within 2 months (60) days of the case registered, the trail has to be started. Within 45 days after hearing completion, the verdict has to be delivered. After the verdict within 7 days the verdict would be implemented. There are also some other new laws for example – death penalty for them who rape a minor of 12 years old or below. In case arresting criminals where 3 years or less punishment is given, in such cases, deputy superintendent’s permission is needed.
