AGARTALA, Jue 28 (TIWN): Govt of Tripura launched an awareness campaign to prevent drowning.
West District Magistrate Dr. Vishal Kumar informed the media with the increasing deaths by drowning it turned important to take certain steps to aware people of this issue so that deaths can be stopped.
After training provided by the Disaster Management Act and mock drills, the teams will be sent to various parts of the state to aware people of drowning.
Dr. Kumar informed, total of eight persons have died by drowning this year. So the department decided to launch this awareness campaign to educate people on why to learn swimming or what to do when someone is seen drowning. It will also train when to avoid bath or going in water bodies amid weather issues.
