Residents of Surjamani Nagar, Aditya Saha, and his wife Debadrita Chowdhury were returning home from Udaipur. They visited Matabari, Tripura Sundari temple when the accident took place in Bagma after it crashed with another car which was coming from the opposite side. Three arrested with Rs. 9.65 Lakh cashes | AGARTALA, Feb 17 (TIWN): Railway police arrested three suspected persons during a routine checkup at Agartala Railway station with Rs. 9.65 lakhs of cash amounts. After inquiry, it has been known that three of them are from Maharashtra and came to Tripura a few days back. TSF activists arrested by Police after g | AGARTALA, Feb 12 (TIWN): Various student organizations of Tripura regional parties have called for a strike, and road blockades in Tripura on Monday seeking restoration of Roman script for uses of Kokborok language in Tripura Board of Secondary Examination (TBSE) conducted examinations. Twipra Students Federation (TSF), an independent student organization members gheraoed CM’s residence today morning when various places were witnessing road blockades and protests in this state. The agitators raised slogans demanding the withdrawal of TBSE’s decision on temporary prohibition in Roman script uses for TBSE examinations. He accused TBSE President of making an irrelevant excuse for his decision. “Tripura Board of Secondary Education (TBSE) is an autonomous body, how can any other board influence its decisions?” asked Animesh Debbarma. The issue erupted after TBSE declared that Roman script could not be used for Kokborok language anymore. Till now both Roman and Bangla were allowed whereas the sudden order has generated resentment and also hurdles for many students who are from English medium backgrounds.
