AGARTALA, Feb 11 (TIWN): Irked by the jealousy of seeing Dr. Manik Saha’s elevation as 5th most popular CM of India, former Chief Minister Biplab Deb who tarnished Tripura’s name with his ‘internet’s existence during Mahabharata’s time’, ‘Diana Hayden unworthy as Miss World’ etc, and unpopularized as a ‘motor-mouth’ after two years of his deposition from CM post, claimed during a Gram Cholo Abhijan program in Agartala that both his name and the name of Tripura was popularized during his time.
“Hardly there is any place, where people do not recognize me,” said Deb.

He also claimed, he changed the situation in Haryana as he is now in charge of the state comparing Haryana is now more popular than Delhi.
Deb thanked the people of Tripura for making him CM.
The remark came after incumbent CM Dr. Manik Saha was named among 5 popular chief ministers of India. Dr. Manik Saha was declared as Tripura CM on May 14, 2022 replacing Biplab Deb.
Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha’s name was listed among top 5 Chief Ministers in India who are popular in their own home-state. Expressing gratitude over the announcement, CM Dr. Manik Saha said, “I have also heard about that. Probably a survey was done about popular Chief Ministers and my name has been ranked 5th. I am happy about that. I just got an opportunity to develop the state under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. I am trying to work for people, not for popularity. However, I am honored that people love me so much that my name came out amongst the top 5 CMs.”
BJP party members celebrated the moment and greeted CM with flower bouquets.
CM paid tribute to Din Dayal Upadhyaya on the occasion of his death anniversary at the BJP party head office in Krishna Nagar, Agartala.
